Three things move a quote more than anything else: how many pages you need, who writes the content, and whether people can buy or book on the site.

A one-page site with your services, contact buttons and a map is the simplest. A business site with separate pages for each service, an enquiry form and content written for you takes more work. A store with products, a cart and an order list is the biggest job, because every product and every step of checkout has to work.

The yearly costs people forget

The build is a one-time cost, but a website also has running costs: the domain name renews every year, the site needs hosting, and someone has to keep it secure, backed up and up to date.

Cheap websites and what they skip

Before you compare prices, ask every provider the same questions: Who writes the content? Is the domain in my name? What happens after launch? How many changes are included?
